Zido Cars started in 2002 with one R5 000 Golf. Today it has showrooms in Benoni, Boksburg and Apex, approved by MIOSA and the Independent Dealer Association.
It started with a crash, a Golf and R5 000.
In 2002 Zaahid Hajat was in his second year at varsity when he crashed the car his father had given him. There was no insurance, so he fixed it himself, and paid for the parts by working extra hours in his father's shop.
Then he saw a Golf advertised for R5 000. He bought it, fixed it, put a For Sale sign in the window and drove it to lectures until it sold. Then he did it again. At one stage there were five cars for sale at the side of the road near home.
Two years later he had saved enough to pay his father back for the car he had crashed. His father told him to keep the money and put it into the business.
The first Zido Cars showroom opened in Apex in 2005, Kempton Park followed in 2013, and Benoni became head office and workshop in 2018. The newest floor is at V-Max Square in Boksburg, for premium and luxury cars.

Zido Cars does not sell accident vehicles, nor cars that have been structurally damaged.

Each vehicle is thoroughly checked to make sure it is legitimate, not stolen and accurately represented.

Approved by the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa (MIOSA) and the Independent Dealer Association.
Finance with every major bank
Approved with all the major banks, so finance is arranged at the showroom.
